Codex Digital at IBC2008

September 2008

We would like to thank everyone who took the time to come and see us at the IBC 2008 exhibition at the RAI Centre, in Amsterdam.

With this summer's shipping of the multi-award winning Codex Portable, a 4kg (9lb) field recorder for multicam HD shoots, stereoscopic production or digital cinematography, Codex boasts a production portfolio that spans commercials, children’s TV, pop promos and major feature films.

At this year's IBC we launched the Codex Digital Lab, which gives anyone wishing to utilise the many digital film cameras available a service that covers everything from capture to safe storage and the generation of post deliverables.

Key to the Codex Digital systems is the Virtual File System that can read any HDSDI or Bayer-pattern signal and deliver any file format required, along with its metadata, removing the need for tape or film stock, telecine, dubs, digitising, transcoding and paper logging. Currently supported formats are DPX, Avid DNxHD, QT, Cineform, JPEG, BMP and WAV.
